Did you know it only takes 10 seconds for a user to form an impression of your brand? Your logo often shapes that first impression – make it count. Your logo design is a visual summary of your company, helps you stand out from your competition, and forms the cornerstone of your brand. Color, typography, iconography, and language complete the brand story.
You know your brand better than anyone, which is why you are involved at every step in the logo design process. The first step is the client brief, which gives you an opportunity to express your vision and expectations.
After getting to know your vision for the logo and brand, we look for answers to questions like, “What are competitors doing effectively and ineffectively? How can your brand stand out among competitors?” We also study peripheral brands for inspiration around visual style and online presence. We take the information that we gather, organize the data, and present our findings to ensure you agree with our design direction.
We start with sketches to clarify the direction. Sketches are quick, low cost, and effective. After refinement, we digitize the strongest logo concepts and consider font, color palettes, and overall style. At the conclusion of Phase 1, we present our research findings and initial logo designs in a story-based presentation.
We recommend choosing a few (1-3) of your favorite logo concepts from the first phase. Incorporating your feedback, we add, subtract, and combine ideas to create a new body of work. We then show a variety of logo alternative options for color and font selection.
Once we have established your favorite logo concept, we make final alterations based on your feedback. This ensures a polished and well-designed logo, and sets the stage for branded elements that will follow.
To ensure your logo files are used appropriately across all collateral, we create a logo package for your team. The logo package includes all of the different types of file formats and logo variations for use in both print and digital, along with a visual guide for their application.
We can provide additional digital materials to support your brand’s unique needs. You may need an icon package that demonstrates your company’s values, a branded tagline to feature on your home page, a pattern to be used on your packaging, logos for your corporation’s sub-brands, or icons and images made specifically for your social media accounts. Whatever the need, we can provide those custom assets.
This document is a valuable component to your brand package, especially for teams. It establishes the full picture of your brand and clearly outlines helpful rules for consistency across all platforms. This document is unique to your brand and helps answer questions like: “I need to order business cards; how much space should be around my logo? What colors should I specify when customizing my company apparel? What language should be used when writing content for my website and other materials?”
