THE DETAILS:

Overview:

Laut Design seeks a Project Manager for its Graphic Design team.

 

This position manages the logistical details, project administration, and client communication on our teams’ work output for clients.

 

The goal of the Project Manager position is consistent, successful delivery of our teams’ creative work to drive a high level of productivity and team growth. This position provides management oversight on all team output, ensuring that work is planned properly and befitting of the project requirements, budget, and schedule.

 

Experience:

  • Experience planning and managing complex projects
  • Outstanding organizational habits and abilities
  • Proven project execution and successful client account management
  • Mastery of project management software and other digital & physical tools of the trade
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate a team to do their best work
  • Aptitude in on-the-fly decision-making and problem-solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to decipher trade terminology and translate it into big picture decision-making
  • At least five years of relevant experience

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in graphic design or a creative field
  • Familiarity with project management software (Wrike is preferred), Adobe Creative Cloud, print production processes, and vendor management.
  • Graphic designers with project management skills are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties:

Schedule Projects
Develop a project schedule based on approved proposals. Consult with senior management on team availability and recommend start dates for new projects. Lay out new project timelines on our project management software and manage team calendars. Share the schedule with clients and communicate with our team to ensure alignment on deliverables. Adjust as necessary when internal or external factors delay progress.

 

Monitor Project Progress
Update leadership weekly on the status of all active graphic design projects. Introduce and present a proposed timeline for any work we are beginning that week. Ensure that our project management software is kept up to date.

 

Manage Client Communication
Be available and responsive for client questions and anything that may arise over the course of proposing or completing a project. If it’s something that requires help, remain accountable for the eventual solution to the technical question or problem. Remain our client’s primary point of contact.

 

Attend Client Meetings
Attend and facilitate communication during client meetings to ensure topics have been covered and any questions answered. Communicate the schedule to the client at the end of every client meeting. Host internal debrief directly after client meeting to ensure team accountability on next steps.

 

People Management
Conduct semi-annual performance reviews for the graphic designers who report to you.

 

Handle Administrative Tasks
Create an organized system for converting estimates and submitting invoices, as well as following up with clients on late payments. Organize receipts for billable materials and maintain systems for vendor communication.
